Our Anti Racist Circle Kit is Bringing out the Haters!

Anti-Racist Circle Kit Promo Fall 2020 (1).png

Sometime in March, we decided that a Circle Kit discussing tough topics was a need for folks everywhere. We had no idea that the next few months would give way to people around the world demanding racial equality and injustice in the streets chanting the names of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd and countless others. My initial thought as a parent and educational leader was, we need this tool. It will help people discuss tough stuff like, race, discrimination, ally-ship, police brutality, anti-racism, and white privilege.

Oftentimes these topics can seem so weighty, that we avoid them all together, especially in the classroom. However, we are firm believers that as educators we must change with the times, and create opportunities for students that allow them to gain new and relevant skills. Though I can’t foresee how all this will play out, I know that the world we’re birthing will at a minimum require people to talk about race and these topics with empathy, kindness, and understanding. So with that being said, we set to work to create short, completely turnkey scripts that give folks the words needed to get kids to ponder the world in front of them.

It’s not a set of beliefs or judgements, but rather a tool full of questions that gets kids and adults talking about the stuff that matters, yet is often ignored. The kit is a digital download, because honestly who has time for papers, mid-covid. The goal at the start was to get it out as soon as possible and to limit any barriers, and we’re so grateful it’s been doing just that. This anti-racist circle kit is for all students. It has 10+ Restorative Practice Circle Scripts that will allow you to dig into the tough topics that we stayed away from for far too long. It’s great for grades 6-12💪🏽

The time is now. 🔥Teaching is political.🔥Say something, do something. 🔥Enough is enough.

We spent the last six months chanting blacks lives matter, now it's time to show it with our students. By no means is this the only way, but for those looking for a tool to help them start, we got you💪🏽

Update on Instagram/Facebook Ad Issue for Inquiring Minds:

One of the things we’re grappling with during this exciting launch period is the recent troubling announcement that the government would no longer be funding these types of training or content, specifically those focused on ANTI RACISM. Coincidentally, we’d been attempting to run some advertisements on social media when the kit launched, but all efforts have been pointless, because Facebook & Instagram are deeming it political content, thus preventing us from advertising it to a larger audience. Despite us clarifying that it's an educational tool and our intentions are to promote it, we've been denied each and every time we resubmit our paperwork for approval. It’s disheartening, because we made it with the thought of promoting love, diversity, and equality, yet it’s being treated like something it isn’t. This means we can’t expand our reach and make more people aware of it. So how can you help?

Well share it of course!!! Though IG & FB can stop us from running ads they can’t stop word of mouth spread, and for that we need your help. If you are on any form of social media, share the tool. If you’re not a social media user, email this blog or our latest newsletter to a friend. Any of these things would help us tremendously as a small black owned business. We’re tired of being silenced, and so we ask that you all support us in screaming loudly. This work is exhausting, but we are reassured by each and everyone of you daily, that it’s important and we must go on!
